Regarding RFM95, we're working to get a Whisper Node LoRa version. Hopefully we'll be able to keep the same low-power capabilities as well use the new LoRa Radio modulation.

So does this require two Wisper Nodes (LoRa) or can this be done with one?  For example if there was 5 nodes needing their messages relayed over a hill to a gateway.

You could have a single node receiving and forwarding the message of multiple nodes.
