Maybe you should have a look on Microchip RN2483 (433/868 MHz) LoRa™ Modem for future products because "...The RN2483 has the complete LoRaWAN™ protocol stack on the modem and is easy to configure via simple ASCII commands through the UART, greatly reducing development time. ...". So it would be a LoRaWAN ready node.

Thanks vldbzh,

We've considered building a LoRaWAN ready product, but that would significantly increase the product cost beyond our target price at the moment. Maybe in the near future, we will be able to bring such product to our portifolio.

On the other side, we believe that LoRaWAN is a great standard, but for many projects, which do not require interoperability across multiple vendors, it can be considered overkill, adding unnecessary costs and complexity to a more simplified solution based on a proprietary protocol. Moreover, the complex message format causes extra power consumption, which can be reduced with smaller messages.
